Dr. Johnathan Murray graduated magna cum laude from Western States Chiropractic College (now University of Western States) in Portland, Oregon in September of 2007. Prior to his studies at WSCC, Dr. Murray completed a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Exercise and Health Physiology at the University of Calgary. Dr. Murray is a certified Active Release Technique (ART) provider. ART is a movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Dr. Murray has further training in Graston Technique and FAKTR (Functional and Kinetic Treatment with Rehab) concepts, which are a form of instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization and are used to treat soft tissue/fascial conditions. As well, Dr. Murray has further training as a medical professional through the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) focusing on diagnosis and treatment of golf injuries with emphasis on golf posture and swing mechanics. Dr. Murray was born and raised in Newfoundland and relocated to Calgary in the summer of 1997. Dr. Murray continues to participate in a variety of sports and activities in his daily life and has a special interest in working with sport related injuries, whether it is with Olympic level athletes or “weekend warriors”. However, Dr. Murray’s true passion is helping individuals in all walks of life achieve, maintain and enjoy a healthy and active lifestyle.
