Melissa has been in practice since 1997 and is inspired by the biomechanics of the body. Her approach facilitates active rehabilitation through assessment and treatment, tailored to you as an individual, to help you achieve and maintain optimal health and performance for your everyday life or athletic endeavours. She uses a variety of deep tissue, myofascial and neuromuscular massage techniques as well as home exercises and education. Melissa is also certified in Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST). The fascia is a complex connective tissue network within the body that surrounds organs, muscle fibers, bones and joints. FST takes a body-wide approach to solving biomechanical issues through gentle assisted stretching in multi-directional and rotational planes. She works with patients of all fitness levels and has worked with amateur athletes in hockey, cycling, skiing and swimming as well as professional athletes in the NHL, NBA and PGA. Melissa is a lifelong recreational athlete with a competitive background and currently spends her free time skiing in the winter and road cycling and hiking in the summer. Melissa is a member in good standing with both the Registered Massage Therapists of BC and The College of Massage Therapists of BC.
