Scott developed his love of injury management and physiotherapy growing up in Calgary, from the many sports teams on which he played and served as athletic trainer, as well as developing exercise programs for neurodevelopmentally complex teenagers. This led him to pursue and complete his Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Calgary, followed by his Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta. Scott’s approach focuses on quality, one-on-one individualized treatments that aim to empower his patients to both get better as well as stay better. He employs a variety of techniques such as joint mobilizations, soft tissue massage with trigger point release, cupping massage, and Muscle Energy Technique; however, the most important aspects of his treatments are honest and quality patient education, as well as targeted and progressive exercise programs to address both the symptoms and their causes. Scott has taken additional courses in vertigo/concussion management, as well as geriatric rehabilitation and healthy aging, though he has elected not to specialize in either, as he believes that all age groups and injuries equally deserve quality, personal, expert care. Outside of work, Scott enjoys hiking, cooking, playing guitar, reading, lifting weights, and otherwise spending time with his wife and his cat.
