Lauren graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She then ventured to Edmonton where she completed her Masters in Physiotherapy in 2010. After graduating, she worked in one of the only stand-alone rehab centers in the country, the Glenrose Rehab Hospital in Edmonton. She spent most of her career there working in stroke and brain injury and gained experience in treating other neurological conditions such as MS, Parkinson’s’ and spinal cord injuries. Lauren has also been working in the private practice setting, starting her career in a women’s health clinic. She has completed postgraduate training in Dry Needling, Visceral Therapy & Women’s Health. Lauren has had a very strong passion for pelvic floor physiotherapy since having her own children and is thrilled to bring her knowledge, experience and passion to New Brunswick. Lauren is a firm believer that the more women know about their journey in pregnancy and postpartum, the smoother the journey will be. Lauren has a gift for connecting with her patients and strives to create an environment for her clients to feel heard and validated as they navigate their road to recovery. Her approach to physiotherapy focuses on looking at the patient as a whole to get to the root of the problem and includes the use of manual therapy, patient education and a strong element of therapeutic exercise. Lauren believes in the importance of understanding your specific goals and tailoring evidence-based treatment. Beyond physiotherapy, Lauren enjoys spending time with family and friends, being out in nature, downhill and cross-country skiing and exploring the beautiful Atlantic provinces. Fun fact- a way to Lauren’s heart is through a bag of jube jubes!
