My approach to treatment is patient and gentle, yet specific. By bringing your attention to body awareness, I hope to facilitate the opportunity for making space in the body, by giving room for the body to allow in the treatment. Patients are encouraged to collaborate in curating the preferred treatment, providing feed back to adjust throughout treatment. The interview, assessment and treatments are inclusive and trauma informed. I tend to be especially skilled in working with those who have extra sensitive or highly reactive nervous systems. A few neat things I offer in my practice are: Craniosacral Therapy: A gentle hands-on modality aiding in bringing balance to systems and structures of the body. It uses light touch to release tension around the body’s connective tissue network called the fascia. Patients have the option to be fully clothed for this style of treatment. Conditions indicated for CST are headaches, concussion, encouraging sleep, pain management for chronic injuries, low back, hip or pelvic pain, burnout, mental health support (in addition to other MD led treatments) and as a non- invasive treatment to address injury. Visceral manipulation for the pelvis:, Treats the uterus and bladder and may provide relief from conditions involving scar tissue or facial adhesions following C-section or child birth, painful periods, interstitial cystitis, bladder incontinence, UTI, PCOS and other trauma or inflammatory pelvic conditions. Treatment is through the abdomen, externally and is gentle and tends to be quite relaxing. Visceral Manipulation for the abdomen, also offered, may address conditions related to the stomach, liver, colon and digestive structures. Encouraging Mobility and motility back into these structures may support better function and overall digestive health and parasympathetic relaxation. Post Operative scar work and mobility massage treatment for gender affirming top surgery patients. (masc /femme/ non-binary) : benefits may include improving the appearance of scars, restoring range of motion to neck shoulders abdomen, reducing oedema by encouraging lymph drainage, improving rib cage mobility for optimal breathing, reducing fascial adhesions and restrictions, sensation retraining and documentation of treatment progress. Within the last five years, I have had the opportunity to work with a growing number of patients affirming gender with top surgery. Although able to support patients in many ways that were indeed beneficial, I was keen to receive more education on how best to use massage therapy to facilitate wellness and healing for an underserved community. Gender affirming top surgery patients in Vancouver, are often lacking in resources for rehabilitation, education and may face uncertainty in finding a supportive and comfortable space for Massage Therapy treatments. In 2025 I attended the intensive, three level course with The Mastectomy Guide program. This is the leading course for Massage Therapists to learn about chest, breast and oncology surgeries and how to treat them, including complicated cases. As I offer hold space to observe individuals through their healing journey, I offer opportunity for more comfort and ease while helping to improve movement, confidence with scar tissue health over time. In my spare time Crystal enjoys foraging, skateboarding, crafting, cycling, swimming in the ocean, snowboarding, sewing and observing the phases of the moon.
