With over a decade of frontline emergency medical experience and a deep passion for healing, Dr. Taylor Barilla blends modern clinical insight with the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat the root causes of pain, trauma, and imbalance. Dr. Taylor completed the Double Major from the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and graduated as a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Registered Acupuncturist in 2025. Her clinical focus lies in supporting first responders, athletes, and individuals living with emotional trauma, PTSD, and chronic pain. She specializes in trauma- informed care—offering compassionate, individualized treatment that integrates body, mind, and spirit. Dr. Taylor’s unique background includes over a decade as a Primary Care Paramedic, extensive experience in sports medicine as a hockey and lacrosse trainer, and ongoing research into how stored emotions manifest physically. Her thesis, The Neurological and Biomechanical Effects of Acupuncture on Emotions as a Stored Pathogen, explores how mental trauma can be released through the body to promote lasting healing. In her practice, Dr. Taylor combines evidence-based modalities with classical Chinese approaches to restore flow, function, and vitality. Guided by the philosophy “Heal your body’s health by balancing your mental health” Dr. Taylor is committed to helping others reclaim their health, reconnect with their bodies, and live more fully.
Acupuncture is an ancient practice of inserting fine needles into specific points of the body in accordance to Traditional Chinese Medicine theory (TCM). TCM theory holds a holistic perspective and takes the time to consider the full human experience in each case, and aims to treat the root cause of any concern, rather than just the symptoms. It activates your inner intelligence to heal your body. It offers an array of solutions to physical and mental health concerns such as: Stress/anxiety, digestive issues, pain, musculoskeletal conditions, menopausal symptoms, TMJ, skin care concerns (anti-aging, wrinkles, acne), pre/postpartum support (fertility, morning sickness, labor prep, lactation, fatigue).
