John is a UBC graduate with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 1994, as well, he has a BSc in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University in 1990. Twelve years ago John completed his Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Sciences from UBC. John has been a practicing physiotherapist for nearly 28 years, working in a wide variety of settings, primarily at the Chilliwack Hospital, and more recently, working part-time at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital. The last 7 years have been split between the public health care system and the private practice setting. John finds the private practice experience very rewarding and has enjoyed this new career path. He has taken a wide range of course to develop his orthopedic skills as well as developing a keen interest in concussion and vestibular management, taking introductory and advanced course in each area. John enjoys an active lifestyle, including weight training, cycling, swimming, and walking his lovely dog Allie. John’s hobbies include working in his yard, doing gardening and landscape design, house renovations and small wood working projects, and he is an avid reader of fiction novels. John has two adult daughters, both attending UFV in the criminology program and his oldest was just recently married in June. John has been married to his wife Jennifer for 32 years this August and they have known each other since they were kids.
