Shamus is a doctor of acupuncture and Eastern medicine with over two decades of experience in holistic healthcare. He holds a doctorate from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and is a graduate of the Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture at Northeast College of Health Sciences. Additionally, he completed advanced Chinese herbal medicine training at the Won Institute of Graduate Studies in Philadelphia, PA. His journey into Eastern medicine began when an acupuncture clinic opened just steps from his childhood home, sparking a lifelong passion for holistic health. Over the years, he has studied extensively, including medical Qi Gong under 5th-generation acupuncturist and Qi Gong master Grandmaster Tzu Kuo Shih, OMD, L.Ac. As the founder of ACU 585 in Brighton, NY, Shamus is dedicated to helping patients achieve their wellness goals through personalized, evidence-based care. His approach blends traditional wisdom with modern therapeutic techniques, including sound therapy, to promote vitality and balance. Outside his practice, Shamus is a certified Permaculture designer and embraces sustainable living on his homestead in Bristol, NY, where he shares life with his partner Jacki, three dogs, a cat who thinks he’s a dog, and a lively flock of chickens.
