Get to Know Me a Bit Better Dr. Dagmar “Josie” Wittner grew up in Steyr Austria, lived in San Francisco for 14 years and moved to Jackson Hole Wyoming in 2010 . Dr. Josie was always very interested in sports. At the young age of three she began figure skating in her home town, Steyr, Austria, and was part of the Austrian Junior Volleyball team by the age of seventeen. In 1997 Dr. Josie had the opportunity to participate in the FIVB International Beach Volleyball World Champion in Los Angeles. 1998 she received a volleyball scholarship from Holy Names University, Oakland Hills, where she graduated with a BS in Biology. Being involved in highly competitive sports led to many injuries over time. Dr. Josie was frustrated with the effectiveness of the care she had received in the past and decided to learn more about the human body. Her choice of studies was chiropractic, due the fact that chiropractic has a drug free approach to healing and is not only beneficial while injured, but is also helpful as a preventative measure and wellness care. Dr. Josie received her Doctor of Chiropractic from Life Chiropractic West, Hayward California in 2005. Dr. Josie uses a holistic approach in diagnosing, treating and preventing mechanical disorders of the muscular-skeletal and nervous systems. Her non-invasive techniques of Chiropractic Care, Active Release Soft Tissue Technique (ART) and Kinesio Taping (KT), Graston, Dry Needling, biomechanical assessment, Cold Laser Therapy, strengthening exercises and nutritional advice, based upon the individual needs of each person. Dr. Josie’s current patients range from the average person, recreational athletes, to amateur and professional athletes. She has worked together with NCAA athletes, the NBA, NHL, professional triathletes, US volleyball, eco-challenge races, pro skiers, US SKI team and the good old Wyoming Cowboys. Dr. Wittner has gained experience through working several Triathlon events such as Wild Flower, and was an official Active Release Provider at the World Championship in Kona, Hawaii. Not only has Dr. Wittner treated Ironman athletes, but was also an Ironman participant in 2006. In 2014 Dr. Josie received her national animal chiropractic board certification from AVCA. She specializes in canine and equine chiropractic adjustments. The winter of 2023 Dr Josie was invited to work with the US Mens Downhill Ski team in Wengen (Switzerland) and Kitzbuhl (Austria). In 2024 Dr Josie was part of the medical supports stuff for the RAAM (race across america) for Colin O’Brady and Lucas Clarke. It was a two men cycling team and 13 supporters that raced across America from Oceanside CA to Atlantic City NJ. The journey was fun and adventures and we broke the WORLD RECORD. We broke the RAAM record and crossed the US in 6 days, 6 hours and 43 min. It was an amazing journey!!! In 2024 Josie participated and finished the 29029 Everesting event in Jackson Hole Wyoming. Currently Dr. Josie loves living in Jackson Hole WY. In her free time you can find her mountain biking, fishing, hiking with her pack of 4 dogs.
