Kathleen is a Registered Massage Therapist with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO), and a Certified Pilates Instructor. Formerly, she was an RMT in San Diego, California, where she first learned about the benefits of massage therapy, and practiced her craft for seven years before moving back to Ontario to start again. She has celebrated two years at Marchdale Massage Therapy and looks forward to many more! A graduate of Trios College (formerly International Academy of Applied Health), Kathleen also explored her interest in myofascial techniques with hands-on seminars around the USA, learning the John F. Barnes methodology. Her other workshops include applied aromatherapy, as well as TMJ therapy here in Ottawa. With a broad range of experience, from equestrian and cycling sports, performing arts, and working in IT, Kathleen is able to identify with many different aspects of how the body responds to repetitive patterns, and uses her understanding of those mechanics to help create specific treatment plans for clients. As a passionate advocate of massage therapy for physical and mental well-being, Kathleen encourages a whole-mind-and-body approach to health. Her treatment style is being curious, present, and communicative so that she is in harmony with her clients. Kathleen enjoys hiking, reading, and cooking in her free time and tends to be a home-body until someone reminds her how much she loves to travel.
