An initial acupuncture assessment is a comprehensive evaluation to understand a patient’s health concerns and develop a personalized treatment plan. It typically includes: Patient History – Discussing medical history, current symptoms, lifestyle, and overall well-being. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Assessment – Evaluating pulse, tongue, and other diagnostic signs to determine energy imbalances. Physical Examination – Checking for areas of tension, pain, or dysfunction. Discussion & Treatment Plan – Explaining findings and outlining an acupuncture approach, which may include needling, cupping, or herbal recommendations. First Treatment – If appropriate, an initial acupuncture session is included.
