MscPT Dawson is a dedicated and empathetic physiotherapist passionate about helping individuals achieve their optimal physical health. Dawson’s comes from a non-traditional education background, completing the Thompson Rivers University’s Adventure Guide Program and graduating with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies. Having spent his early twenties working in the guiding industry, Dawson was searching for a new way to support the people around him and give back to the community. His passion for movement and athletics, combined with years of personal injuries and rehabilitation, made physiotherapy an obvious choice. Dawson completed his Master of Physical Therapy Program at UBC, as part of the Northern cohort in Prince George. Shaped by his background as an avid climber, ski tourer and runner, Dawson’s approach to treatment blends current research with a personal connection to movement. These activities have honed Dawson’s understanding of biomechanics and physical performance so that he can personally relate to those he treats. Dawson’s approach is to combine hands-on techniques with tailored exercise and education plans, with the goal of getting you back moving and doing the things you love, while building resilience and promoting lifelong health and wellness. Whether addressing acute or chronic injuries, concussion recovery, or helping improve performance for athletes of all levels, Dawson’s priority is to help you build strength, mobility, and confidence to lead an active and fulfilling life. Dawson is committed to staying at the forefront of physiotherapy advancements to continually improve his abilities as a practitioner. He has completed continuing education in a variety of different fields including pain science and exercise biomechanics but has focused mainly on “hands on” skills such as soft tissue work and joint mobilizations. Dawson is currently enrolled in the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal (AIM) program, a multi-year internationally recognized certification process that incorporates evidence-based assessment and treatment techniques. Additionally, Dawson is also involved in a year long Climbing Special Interest Group, learning from some of North America’s best climbing specific physios on common climbing injuries and how best to treat them. After years of climbing, skiing, and running all over the province, Dawson made the decision to settle in Squamish permanently in the Fall of 2024. When not in the clinic, you can find Dawson out on the rock, slopes and trails spending time with friends and enjoying the many things that make the Sea to Sky so special.
