Up and Running Physiotherapy

651 Stafford Street, #3, Winnipeg, MB, R3M 2X7

Mats is a graduate of the University of Manitoba, where he earned a Master’s degree in Physiotherapy. Prior to this, he earned a Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Athletic Therapy at the University of Winnipeg. His drive to become a physiotherapist began early as a young athlete experiencing his own injuries that required rehab. This naturally led him to pursue a career helping others move better and feel stronger. Mats has gained valuable experience throughout both of his degrees. He has experience working with athletes through placements with a hockey team and University of Winnipeg athletes throughout his athletic therapy degree. During his physiotherapy education, he completed diverse clinical placements, including pediatric care, post-operative rehab for knee and hip replacements, and neurological rehab for stroke recovery. These experiences helped shape a well-rounded, empathetic, and evidence-based approach to care. Outside of work, he stays active through squash, pickleball, swimming, biking, running, hiking, and has recently started competing in triathlons. In quieter moments, he enjoys spending time with his cats and beading as a creative and relaxing hobby.
