Dr. Karandeep Athwal began his studies at Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, BC. He completed three years toward a Bachelor of Science degree. Then, he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic (Honours) from Palmer College of Chiropractic - West Campus in San Jose, California. His interest in sports therapy started after he rehabilitated a serious ankle injury at a young age. Later on, work with the BC Athletic Commission reinforced that interest. He met combat-sport athletes who risked their bodies, valued rehab, and prioritized prevention to stay at peak performance. Focusing on an evidence based approach, Dr. Athwal’s treatment prioritizes soft tissue therapies and corrective exercises. He uses a variety of techniques such as Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Active Release Techniques (ART), Myofascial decompression cupping (MFD), spinal and extremity manipulation/mobilization and Percussion Therapy. He is a member of the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS). Currently, he is working towards earning his International Certificate in Sports Chiropractic (ICSC). Dr. Athwal delivers personalized care that supports individuals from all walks of life in recovering from injury, restoring function, and moving pain-free.
