Upstate Acupuncture
Board-certified acupuncturist with over 20 years experience. Licensed massage therapist with over 27 years experience. John was first introduced to acupuncture and Chinese medicine while studying abroad for a semester at Chengdu University. Upon his return, he was inspired by his percussion teacher, jazz legend Milford Graves, to pursue Chinese medicine himself. Due to his passion for martial arts, he began his healing arts journey by learning massage therapy, and graduated from the Swedish Institute in 1998. After a few years in practice he was looking to have a more profound impact on his patients, so he enrolled in acupuncture school, graduating in 2005. In addition to operating clinics in Manhattan and Madison, he has also taught classes and supervised clinics at two massage schools. Outside of work he enjoys exercise, meditation, cooking brunch, and reading in his hammock.
