Alexis graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 2021, with a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy after obtaining her BSc Life Sciences at McMaster University and Honours BSc Kinesiology at York University. She further solidified her knowledge of sports and rehabilitation by concurrently working and volunteering within the rehabilitation world as a physiotherapy assistant (PTA) and Office Administrator while completing her education. Alexis is a former alpine ski racer with qualifications as a Level 1 CSAI ski instructor and Level 1 CSIS coach. She enjoys being outdoors no matter the weather and is a keen hiker, road biker, and runner. When the weather is not cooperating, you can find her at the CrossFit gym or on her bike trainer. Along with athletics, Alexis continues to further her education to build her knowledge of sports medicine and body mechanics. She has completed a Kinesiology Taping course and an Intensive Sports Massage course in the UK. As well, she has obtained her Fascial Stretch Therapy certificate, has completed the McMaster Contemporary Medical Acupuncture Program and the Skills-In-Hand Foundations in Neuro-Functional Assessment. Alexis is also a full-time firefighter. With her background in athletics, avid interest in continuous learning, and being a true weekend warrior, Alexis believes she connects with her patients throughout the rehabilitation process in order to get them back to the activities that matter most to them.
