DR. VANESSA WRAY, Chiropractor DC, BSc., Dry Needling/Clinical Acupuncture with Acupuncture Canada Growing up in Calgary, my passion for an active lifestyle led me to sports like softball and snowboarding. Experiencing firsthand the benefits of chiropractic care after injuries from these activities ignited my desire to help others achieve optimal health. This journey took me to the University of Calgary for Kinesiology and then to the University of Western States (UWS) in Portland, Oregon, where I graduated Cum Laude with a Doctorate in Chiropractic Studies and a Bachelor’s in Human Biology. During my time in Portland, I discovered a profound passion for rock climbing, embracing everything from indoor bouldering to the challenges of outdoor lead climbing. This personal involvement in the sport provides me with a unique insight into the biomechanics and common injuries experienced by climbers. My clinical practice reflects a holistic approach to patient care, tailoring treatment plans that may include chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapies, dry needling/clinical acupuncture, and functional exercises. While I am dedicated to helping individuals of all ages and activity levels return to their desired activities, my personal experience and passion for rock climbing drive a specific interest in working with fellow climbers to address and overcome their climbing-related injuries. I aim to empower climbers to return to the wall stronger and healthier. In addition to my work with all types of athletes, I also have a special interest in addressing head and neck pain, particularly TMJ/jaw dysfunction, and value a collaborative approach with dentists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
