Takes WSBC Claims Physiotherapist Dorothy Berwick has experience treating a wide range of injuries and conditions including back and neck pain, sports injuries, Motor Vehicle Accidents and workplace injuries. Dorothy has experience with manual therapy, aquatic rehabilitation, acupuncture, exercise plans, and education to provide a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan for each patient. She has practiced at several clinics and hospitals, including CBI Langford in Victoria, Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody, CBI Saanich, Holy Family Hospital in Vancouver, and St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver. She also has experience at Lions Gate Hospital. After earning a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Alberta, Dorothy earned a Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia. She has further training including her level 3 Manual Therapy, Pain Education, and APTEI Continuing Education in Thoraic Spine, Sacroiliac Joint and the Lumbar Spine. She is a member of the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She is a First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator Instructor. Growing up on the North Shore, Dorothy swam competitively with the Cruisers Swim Club. As a swim instructor and lifeguard for the North Vancouver Recreation Commission, she worked for seven years with all age groups teaching swimming, lifesaving and first aid. As a volunteer, Dorothy worked with the North Shore Special Olympics swim team, at numerous summer camps and at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games. She continues to work with MEC in running clinics and community events, as well as Vancouver SunRun training clinics. She enjoys kayaking, biking, hiking, hockey, and sailing, as well as training for triathlons.
