Dr. Andrej Truyen, DC The journey that led up to me becoming a chiropractor was one that would never have happened if it weren’t for my own experiences with injury as an athlete. The care that I received helped me realize that I want a job where I can also make a difference in people’s lives and get them back to doing what they love most. Throughout my post-graduate career, I had the opportunity to shadow and work for many chiropractors throughout the GTA and I’m happy to say it solidified my passion for this career and showed me I’ll get to meet so many great people along the way. I’m a Stoney Creek native, and I completed a Bachelor of Science degree at McMaster University. I had plenty of exposure to athletic injuries while playing for the varsity men’s soccer team, and got a better feel for how to make rehab fun while still achieving functional goals. I then went on to complete the Doctor of Chiropractic program at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. During my time there, I gained hands-on experience treating a variety of injuries in athletes, post-surgical patients, and individuals with workplace and motor-vehicle-related conditions. I use a combination of adjustments, mobilizations, soft tissue therapy, and exercise prescription to treat musculoskeletal conditions. I’ve also completed the ISS integrated needling program and am licensed to provide acupuncture. To me, a successful patient encounter is one where the patient is fully informed about their condition, and we establish unique, collaborative goals in order to track progress. I am dedicated to continuous learning, and am currently completing continuing-education courses in concussion treatment and other areas of interest. In my spare time I enjoy watching and playing sports, weight training, concerts, and spending quality time with family and friends.
