Provides services in English Ruth graduated from Toronto’s Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic in 2001. Since that time she has lived and worked in a variety of settings ranging from small towns to large cities. She has enjoyed the different challenges that each new setting brings: from treating cowboys (and girls) in the Prairies, to working with downtown office workers, actors and opera singers; Ruth has had a wealth of experience. She also completed a degree from the University of Toronto with a major in Religious Studies and a minor in Women’s Studies as well as a diploma in Addiction Counseling from George Brown College. She strongly believes in treating the whole person – body, mind, spirit, and emotions. Ruth has completed her Advanced Training in Craniosacral Massage, and additional training in Craniosacral Massage for the Jaw (TMJ). Ruth has also completed training enabling her not only to do pre/post natal massage but to teach parents and caregivers how to massage their infants. She has extensive experience in working with clients who suffer from chronic pain resulting from any number of conditions including fibromyalgia and arthritis. She also has specialized training in providing massage for palliative clients; an end-of-life comfort measure which she feels honoured to offer. In her free time, Ruth enjoys paper crafting including card making. She also enjoys swimming and kayaking – passions she hopes to regularly indulge living so close to the Rideau and Ottawa Rivers. Ruth is excited to be part of the new Barrhaven Clinic and looks forward to continuing her training in areas related to women’s health.
