Chris Sliwka graduated from the University of Ottawa with a degree in Human Kinetics in 2002 and received his Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Western Ontario in 2004. Chris has worked in Ottawa in an orthopaedic setting for his entire career. He has experience treating individuals of all ages dealing with acute, chronic, post-surgical, sports, overuse, and age-related issues. He has completed post graduate courses in manual therapy and has training in GunnIMS (intramuscular stimulation), running injury treatment & prevention, and acupuncture. Chris has a special interest in treating running injuries, shoulder injuries and dysfunction, and post-surgical joint replacements. Outside of physiotherapy, Chris is an avid triathlete and he is a member of a global race team. In addition to short course races he has completed 2 Ironman distance and multiple Ironman 70.3 races. If you are a runner who is injured, this assessment is for you. Your therapist will conduct an assessment of your injury and a global movement screen to determine other factors related to your injury. This assessment will be used to guide a treatment plan for return to running or running modifications. You will also receive an exercise plan along with a runner's report. Please book 2 additional runner's follow-ups each 1 week apart after the assessment. Bring shorts/tshirt/indoor running shoes. This will be billed under your physiotherapy insurance.
