Dr. Ashraf is an experienced chiropractor with over 19 years of clinical practice, providing patient-centered care for individuals and families at every stage of life. She has a special interest in perinatal and pediatric chiropractic, using gentle, effective techniques to support moms, infants, and children. She completed her Doctor of Chiropractic at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto in 2006, after beginning her academic journey with a B.Sc. Specializing in Psychology at the University of Alberta. She returned to Edmonton after her post-graduate chiropractic program of four years, where she built a thriving practice over 13 years before relocating to Toronto and eventually settling down in Vancouver with her husband and son. Dr. Ashraf takes an evidence-informed, individualized approach to care, tailoring each treatment plan to her patient’s unique needs and goals. She incorporates a range of techniques, including joint manipulation, soft tissue therapy, and exercise-based rehabilitation, along with practical at-home guidance to support long-term results. Her additional training includes craniosacral therapy (CST), Active Release Techniques, and the assessment and treatment of temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD/TMJD) and related craniofacial pain, including headaches. She frequently collaborates with other healthcare professionals such as medical doctors, physiotherapists, dentists, and massage therapists to ensure comprehensive care. Dr. Ashraf is also GLA:D Back certified, a research-based program designed for persistent and recurrent low back pain. She has previously led group exercises in Edmonton and looks forward to offering similar programs in Vancouver. With a strong commitment to ongoing education, Dr. Ashraf regularly pursues advanced training to stay current with the latest developments in chiropractic care. Her work with infants and children also includes an interest in retained primitive reflexes and their potential impact on development, which she addresses through a combination of gentle chiropractic care and targeted exercises following a thorough assessment.
