Sue Kirkpatrick RMT, DOMP has been working in the hands-on healing field for decades, accumulating extensive knowledge and experience in many areas of manual care. Sue invites you to contact her directly to inquire about treatment styles or to book if you don’t see a spot in her calendar that works for you: [email protected] or 416-537-8002 Sue started her studies and career in Swedish Massage & Hydrotherapy in the late 1970s, continuing her studies in Shiatsu, Acupressure & Jin-Shin-Do, Polarity Therapy, Thai Yoga Massage & Thai Heat Therapy in the decades that followed. After using these modalities for many years, practising as a more traditional Registered Massage Therapist, Sue began her study of Craniosacral Therapy. She trained in styles popularised by Dr. John Upledger D.O. in the early 1990s, which eventually inspired her to enroll in the Canadian College of Osteopathy’s extensive training program of Traditional Manual Osteopathy where she graduated in 2008. She holds a Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice (DOMP) as well as her RMT certification, which allows her patients to choose their preferred style of body work. Her osteopathic philosophy combines myofascial release techniques and energetic techniques to gently unwind and release old body patterns and habits. Her massage style is flowing and rhythmic, with a more moderate approach to alleviating tension. Her approach to “deeper work” in both disciplines isn’t with a focus on “heavy” pressure, but through a series of more gentle to moderate techniques that allow the body to soften itself. The goal is to alleviate pain, not cause more! Whether you book in with Sue for her Osteopathic approach or a RMT treatment, she can help you achieve a wonderful state of deep healing relaxation, assist you in coping with your daily stress levels, as well as relieve you of deep chronic muscular tension and pain. Treatments with Sue draw on a wide base of experience in all her fields of study, and can combine the use of many varied modalities, having a fantastic neurological effect which can be both relaxing and energizing, while addressing muskulo-skeletal concerns. With a background in both T‘ai Chi and Yoga, Sue is also a Pilates instructor with a focus on Traditional Pilates Mat Work, which means she brings a great catalogue of stretching and strengthening exercises to help you along in your healing process.
