Spruce Grove native Tricia Shumate is a dedicated physiotherapist with a deep-rooted passion for movement and sports. With a dynamic background that spans over 20 years of competitive dance and a stint as a cheerleader for the Edmonton Elks, Tricia’s journey has been defined by a lifelong commitment to athletic excellence and rehabilitation. Tricia’s academic journey began at the University of Alberta, where she completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2018. Her pursuit of advanced knowledge and expertise led her to Bond University on the Gold Coast, Australia, where she earned her Doctor of Physiotherapy in 2020. This international education equipped her with a global perspective on rehabilitation techniques and patient care. In her clinical practice, Tricia excels in providing personalized, one-on-one care, emphasizing an active and exercise-focused approach to rehabilitation. Her experience and training are complemented by her certification in biomedical dry needling (IMS), which enhances her ability to address complex musculoskeletal issues. Tricia’s background in competitive sports and dance informs her holistic approach to physiotherapy, allowing her to connect with patients on both a physical and emotional level. Her enthusiasm for helping others recover and achieve their best potential shines through in every aspect of her practice.
