Emma graduated with her physiotherapy degree from Karolinska Institute in Sweden. She has diverse experience working in busy clinics in Sweden, Whistler and the Lower Mainland. Her clinical experiences vary from injuries obtained from activities on and off the mountains, with professional to recreational athletes across the lifespan. She also works with the general population who are dealing with both acute and chronic conditions. Emma’s treatments are goal-driven and developed together with her patients. She believes it’s essential that her patients understand their injury, their body, and the treatment plan. This is accomplished through focusing on exercises, the use of manual therapy techniques to help facilitate them, education and self-management strategies. She has postgraduate training in IMS (dry needling), Mulligan mobilizations, vestibular/ concussion therapy, running assessment/ analysis, clinical yoga and pelvic health, which allows her to provide specialized care tailored to her patients’ needs. She has a keen interest in women’s health, from the female athlete to the pre- and postnatal population. She has also experience working with the pediatric and youth population, with an interest in supporting the growing athlete through their injuries across different ages. Emma is a team physiotherapist with the Whistler Wolves Rugby Club, providing on-field physiotherapy coverage for games for both adult and youth teams. In her spare time, she enjoys trail running with her dog Otis, surfing, mountain biking, and snowboarding. She is also a big traveller, with most of her travel destinations revolving around exploring new surf breaks around the world.
