Fern is a Registered Massage Therapist who takes a holistic, client-centred approach to care. She believes that effective treatment begins with taking the time to understand the person as a whole—not simply the area where they are experiencing discomfort. Her approach is grounded in evidence-informed practice while recognizing that the body is complex, interconnected, and constantly influenced by movement, environment, stress, and lived experience. Fern values assessment and education just as much as treatment, helping clients develop a deeper understanding of their bodies and become active participants in their own care. Fern often uses a slower, broader style of contact, with an interest in the relationship between the fascial system and the body’s movement and function. Rather than rushing to address a single painful area, she enjoys exploring the body as an interconnected system and allowing treatment to unfold according to each client’s presentation and goals. She also believes there is value in creating space to slow down and reconnect with the body. For Fern, a holistic approach means respecting the individuality of each person while remaining grounded in current knowledge, clinical reasoning, and the professional scope of massage therapy.
