Julie graduated with a BSc. in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria and then completed her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Queens University in 2007. Growing up on Vancouver Island, Julie found competitive swimming and raced at a National Level. In University, she was on the varsity triathlon team and represented Canada at the World Age-Group Triathlon Championships in Madeira, Portugal. Now, as a mother to two young competitive swimmers and athletes, she continues to race and frequently competes in National and International competitions. As a lifelong athlete, Julie is familiar with the demands that sport and active living put on the body and has overcome her fair share of injuries. Professionally, Julie uses these experiences to help her patients achieve their full potential and goals – whether that be to compete at the highest level in sport, work pain free in an office or chase their grandchildren at the park. To help her clients achieve their goals, Julie assesses by looking at the body as a whole with a deep understanding of how each of the bodies systems are integrated. With a keen interest in maximizing ones potential, Julie focuses on finding the root cause of the injury and optimizing one’s strengths to prevent further injury from occurring. With nearly 20 years of clinical experience, Julie enjoys treating clients with intramuscular needling, shockwave therapy, soft tissue techniques, manual therapy, functional exercise prescription and lifestyle management. When not in clinic, you can find Julie officiating on a pool deck at swim meets, hiking, swimming in all bodies of water, running, cycling and travelling the world with her family.
Please book an assessment if you have not been treated by the clinic in the past 6 months OR if this is a new injury/ you are seeing a new physiotherapist.
