Dr. Heejung (Heebee) Yang, Naturopathic Doctor (N.D.), graduated from the University of Connecticut majoring in Physiology & Neurobiology and minoring in Statistics. Dr. Yang, N.D., then went on to the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine to complete her honoured Master’s of Acupuncture and Doctorate degree in Naturopathic Medicine. Her experience working in hospitals and the Long term care facility gave her a new direction to seek prevention of disease and illnesses rather than just treatment of symptoms as a way to help patients. Her belief in leading a healthy lifestyle is closely tied with the natural environment and that a proper balance must be maintained to protect the body’s harmony; just as Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) believes illness is a result of imbalance. Dr. Yang, N.D., approaches every patient with acknowledgement and respect for the differences between an individual’s healing process, using the least force necessary to help her patient. Creating a safe and non-judgmental environment for her patients is very important to her so she can truly listen and understand their concerns and she enjoys working together as a team to help others achieve their goals.
