To Dr. Sydney Soares movement matters! She believes in supporting you on your journey to be your best self: mind and body. Her goal as a chiropractor is to empower your to get back to doing the things your love and keep you doing them. Sydney helps you to understand your injury/concern and will promote self-efficacy in a safe and judgement free environment. When your feeling stuck, Sydney’s focus is to educate you about your body and help you overcome adversity to achieve your health goals. Sydney graduated from Trent University before pursing her chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto. She played in the OUA on Trents Varsity Women’s soccer team. As a former competitive athlete Sydney can appreciate the sense of feeling less than your best, having dealt with her fair share of injuries on and off the field. Sydney practices patient-centred evidence-informed care. She works with her patients to create individualized treatment plans depending on their injury and preferences. Sydney incorporates a variety of techniques including joint manipulation/mobilization, soft tissue therapy, acupuncture, exercise, instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy, taping, activity modification, stress management, sports-specific return to play and patient education to optimize her patients health, function and well-being. Sydney has treated a wide variety of patients from professional athletes and expecting mothers to the determined weekend warrior. Sydney is constantly updating her knowledge base and has a wealth of experience in rehab, nutrition, and mental health. It is exceedingly important to Sydney that patients feel empowered to move and understand that their bodies are strong, adaptable and resilient. After all movement matters! Sydney has always had a passion and connection with animals, which is why she furthered her education at Veterinary Chiropractic Learning Centre. After extensive training she is dually-licensed as a chiropractor/animal chiropractor so that she can keep you and your four-legged friends moving their best.
