Christina’s biggest inspiration and introduction to the world of massage therapy came from her paternal grandmother, who displayed a very loving and skilled hand at the craft throughout her life. Dedicated to learning more about the holistic approaches in which she was taught, Christina became determined to fulfill her desire to help others improve their mobility, minimize pain symptoms, and replenish their emotional and mental well-being. Christina began the Registered Massage Therapy program in 2017 and graduated from CDI College in South Surrey in December 2019. During her academic career, she earned a job position at a spa in Burnaby where she worked as a bodyworker for two years. This job allowed her to advance in her practical skills in terms of understanding soft tissues of the body and assuming confidence in Swedish and relaxation techniques, as well as improving her communication skills. Before becoming a Registered Massage Therapist, Christina developed a background in Psychology at Langara College before she decided to enroll in a more hands-on program. The RMT program has provided her with the necessary tools to treat and assist with the management of a multitude of medical conditions and injuries. Christina has been able to utilize a wide variety of skills and knowledge due to her experience in numerous settings. Some of these modalities include - but are not limited to - Swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point release, joint mobilization, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), and muscle energy technique (MET). Since becoming a Registered Massage Therapist, Christina has worked at three locations - a multidisciplinary clinic in South Surrey, an RMT-focused clinic in Delta, and a clinic in Gastown. She has worked alongside a wide variety of knowledgeable RMTs, Chiropractors, Physiotherapists, Naturopathic Doctors, Acupuncturists, Bodyworkers/Aspiring RMT Students & a highly skilled team of administrative/office professionals. In March 2022, Christina began her solo RMT practice in the Downtown Vancouver area at 303-700 West Pender Street. She is hopeful that her priority for providing exceptional service, dedication to the care of her patients & years of experience in varying clinical environments can be a beneficial addition to the Central Vancouver region. Christina has also worked as a Lead Instructor & Teaching Assistant at Vancouver College of Massage Therapy (VCMT). Throughout the majority of her practice, Christina has worked with a considerable number of ICBC patients to treat the aftermath of a motor vehicle accident, as well as assist with postural re-education due to occupational factors. Through adequate special testing and pre-treatment assessment, she can provide all of her patients with the same level of accurate and consistent care, as well as the ability to utilize this data to formulate safe and effective long-term treatment plans. Based on her knowledge of human anatomy and kinematics, as well as her ability to utilize the extensive knowledge she has had the privilege of learning, Christina focuses on addressing the specific needs of each patient. She does so by detecting the source of their complaint whether it be a repetitive strain injury due to occupational habits, an inability to shoulder check directly after a motor vehicle accident, or simply due to emotional stress. By determining these sources, she can treat and/or refer the patient out to the necessary health care professionals if needed. Christina is currently local to the Yaletown area and enjoys working nearby. When she is not dedicating her time to her patients and practice, she’s usually swimming, writing, boating, or out for a walk with her husband Matt, their dog Kahdira & cat Casper. Christina offers one-on-one and group Infant Massage sessions, Pre-Natal appointments and ICBC treatment bookings, in addition to general RMT treatments. You’re welcome to book online, reach out to the clinic, or contact Christina directly to schedule an appointment: Text: 778 389 5190 Email: [email protected]

*** INITIAL / NEW PATIENTS *** A 60 minute initial treatment is an ideal treatment duration. This is the most common booking duration for RMT treatments. If you feel that you’re not really in need of a full body treatment, but you do have some areas in mind that you’d love for the therapist to focus on, then this is the most ideal appointment to book. This duration allows the therapist to key in on a few focus points in the patient’s body, as well as go through the necessary home care to help with postural realignment, as well as overall well-being.
