Hey! I’m Sara, I completed my Master of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University, and my Bachelor of Kinesiology from Acadia University. While attending Acadia, I completed the Sports Therapy Assessment and Management Program. This allowed me to work as a Student Therapist with the Acadia Varsity Women’s Rugby Team for two years, providing on site first aid and helping rehabilitate athletes after injury from sport. It was within this role that I took a strong interest in helping athletes treat and manage their injuries and decided to pursue Physiotherapy! Since finishing school, I have worked in private orthopaedics in St. Johns, NL. While I love orthopaedics, I have always had a strong interest in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy and have since completed my Pelvic Health Levels. I am thrilled to be teaming up with Pelvico and to begin treating individuals with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. I have a particular interest in the treatment of persistent pain and look forward to obtaining more advanced Pelvic Health Physiotherapy certifications in this area. My approach to rehabilitation is exercise focused, and I encourage my clients to take an active role in their rehabilitation. I enjoying treating hands on, with individualized exercise prescription and a focus on client education. I also implement a combination of dry needling, manual therapy, and soft tissue techniques to assist clients in getting back to their regular activities as soon as possible.
(Non-pelvic health clients) For new musculoskeletal/ orthopaedic concerns. To avoid scheduling difficulties, please also book 2-3 weekly 30 minute follow ups so there will not be gaps in your treatment plan.
