Kayla has always had a deep passion for health and fitness, ultimately finding her calling in promoting holistic well-being and empowering others. Her journey into the profession started with a familiar catalyst: after tearing her ACL and experiencing firsthand the transformative impact of working with an exceptional physiotherapist during her rehabilitation, Kayla was inspired to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. Following graduation, she continued studying and training alongside leading experts in human potential, personal growth, and mindset, continually expanding her mastery of health, wellness, and human performance. Inspiring Others to Greatness As a physiotherapist, Kayla’s core mission is to inspire people to elevate their health, fitness, and overall quality of life. Rather than simply treating isolated injuries, her approach focuses on fostering long-term wellness across every stage of life. She firmly believes that true health care is rooted in preventive medicine, and that effective treatment requires comprehensive education and patient empowerment to secure a healthier future. Practising Holistic Health Kayla embodies the philosophy that proactive wellness begins with effective, holistic education for all generations. She has extensive experience teaching and mentoring students, athletes, and individuals, helping them harness the power of mindset, visualization tools, and success principles. With foundational teachings from an Elder, Kayla weaves the Medicine Wheel into her framework to care for the whole person across physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual dimensions. Her primary clinical areas of interest include: Improving function for individuals with diverse abilities. Down regulating chronic stress and the hypersensitive nervous system Providing lasting relief for chronic headaches and neck pain Unwinding myofascial tension Outside of the clinic, Kayla loves spending time in nature, crafting, studying, traveling, and cherishing moments with her family. She loves her young daughter Elowyn, her dog Basil, and husband Nick. She is also deeply passionate about advocating for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's calls to action and driving meaningful progress toward equitable health care. Kayla at a Glance Flat-lander: Born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, before relocating to Nanaimo in 2021 in pursuit of nature, fitness, and outdoor exploration. Outdoorsy: Grew up immersed in the outdoors through camping, fishing, and hiking. Diverse Interests: A background spanning Ukrainian dancing, cross-country running, cycling, and various athletics. Plant Addict: A former volunteer at the Regina Floral Conservatory who maintains a healthy collection of houseplants and a small garden. Lifelong Learner: Driven by an ongoing commitment to personal growth and professional development. Run, Kayla, Run: Actively trains for marathons and triathlons, with a long-term goal of completing and full Ironman Triathlon. Education & Experience 2015: Graduated with distinction with a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology, majoring in Human Kinetics and Adapted Movement Science. 2017: Completed her Master of Physical Therapy at the University of Saskatchewan. Spent her initial three years treating musculoskeletal injuries at a private clinic in Regina, Saskatchewan. Founded her own private physiotherapy practice in Regina. 2021: Spent five awesome years working with a phenomenal team at Pinpoint Physio.
