Joey was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. In 2014, he moved to Edmonton to complete his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, before progressing through the Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy program at the University of Alberta. He has been in Edmonton ever since. Joey grew up playing competitive soccer, where he was initially exposed to the field of physical therapy through recurrent knee and ankle injuries. In University he discovered a passion for weight-training, and in 2022 began competing in powerlifting. In 2023, he qualified for Canadian Westerns, and while he has retired from the world of competition (for now), he continues to enjoy lifting heavy in the gym. You can also find him on the soccer field, climbing up or snowboarding down the mountains, or exploring Edmonton’s brewery scene. Joey’s treatment style is based on a belief that good quality care starts with good quality communication. He is committed to empowering his patients with the tools they need to manage their body through injury and everyday life and enjoys seeing the change that can come with a solid treatment plan. He employs a variety of treatment methods, focusing mainly on exercise-based techniques and education, inaddition to manual therapy and dry needling, to get his patients back to what they want to do.
