Dr. Cole Pollard is a chiropractor (human and animal) and acupuncture provider (human only). He has always had a passion for health and wellness. A career in chiropractic allows him to share that passion with others. He finds the intricacies and complexities of the body to be quite fascinating, which lead him to utilize a more holistic approach when it comes to patient care. Dr. Cole assesses not only the area of concern but also the root cause of the complaint, which can be beneficial for both short-term and long-term recovery. He treats a wide variety of conditions from head-to-toe and believes the perfect treatment plan includes a mixture of manual therapy, exercise/rehabilitation, education, doctor-patient communication, and interprofessional collaboration when necessary. Dr. Cole grew up in Northwestern Ontario in a small town called Dryden. He went on to attend Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, where he obtained an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. From there, he moved to Toronto, where he obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Dr. Cole has additional training in neurofunctional acupuncture (human only), instrument-assisted soft tissue therapy, and animal chiropractic. The addition of animal chiropractic has allowed Dr. Cole to extend his services to the furrier members of the family. He has been a dog owner his entire life, so it was a natural progression in his career to enter the world of animal care. When he’s not treating patients, he can be found adventuring with his partner, Juanita, and his two dogs, Jett and Ginny. He couldn’t be happier to serve the Toronto community!”

Chiropractic - Initial Examination & Treatment

The initial chiropractic examination involves a thorough health history and in-depth subjective analysis of the complaint or problem(s) that prompted the appointment. Previous diagnostic tests and/or any prior imaging (x-ray, MRI, CT scan, etc) are also reviewed. Physical examination involves: postural analysis, range of motion testing, orthopaedic testing as well as static and dynamic motion palpation of the spine and extremities. Once an appropriate diagnosis has been reached a plan of management will be implemented. Treatment often includes chiropractic adjustments and joint mobilizations, myofascial release, passive stretching, rehabilitative exercise prescription and patient education. Acupuncture, therapeutic cupping, kinesiology taping and shockwave therapy are other treatment modalities that the chiropractor may or may not recommended depending on the nature of the complaint.
