Seraina graduated from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2015 with the distinction of winning first place in the Student Case Study Award for her research paper: ‘The Effects of Swedish Massage on Hemoglobin A1C, Peripheral Oxygen Levels and Blood Glucose in Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus’. Seraina combines her background in spa therapy and the benefits of reducing stress with an orthopedic focus on helping her patients recover from injuries. Seraina believes that the body heals best when treated as a whole and has observed that the best therapeutic results take place when the mind and body are relaxed. She incorporates a variety of modalities in her treatments, including Swedish massage, myofascial release, assisted stretching, and deep tissue work. Some of the injuries and areas of treatment Seraina likes to focus on include: · Frozen shoulder · Nerve conditions such as carpal tunnel, thoracic outlet syndrome, sciatica · Plantar fasciitis · Low back pain, degenerative disk disease · Sprains/strains · Sports injuries · Chronic work related or postural pain · Repetitive strain injuries
