Accel Physical Therapy & Massage

#111-118 Millennium Dr, Fort McMurray, AB, T9K 2S8

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at Memorial University in 2014 and then went on to complete my Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in 2018. I have been working in private practise since graduation, working for 2 years in Grande Prairie and then moving to Fort McMurray and working at Accel Physical therapy ever since. I have completed post-graduate courses in Advanced Functional Dry Needling (FDN/IMS) (Levels 1 & 2), Spinal Manipulation and assessment rehabilitation training (SMART), Peripheral manipulation training (Series 2) (Joints outside of the spine), Level 1 of Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy, Neuro-Proprioceptive Taping. I have also become certified in the Integrated Shoulder Rehabilitation (ISR) program, which involves taking an active exercise based approach to help rehabilitate various shoulder injuries. I believe in an active rehabilitation approach involving exercise, manual therapy and education that is catered to meet each person’s individual goals. I use a variety of treatment techniques including soft tissue and joint mobilizations, dry needling, joint manipulation if warranted, functional movement assessments and individualized exercise prescription to help address muscular imbalance, and biomechanical issues. I am passionate about continuing my learning and advancing my skills through research and completing courses to ensure the most up to date and best evidence based practices are being employed. I am currently working through my acupuncture training and hoping to be able to offer these services in mid year 2023. I work with individuals of all ages, involved in motor vehicle accidents, pre-and post-surgical, sports injuries and various other acute and chronic injuries. Outside of work, I lead an active lifestyle and enjoy spending time at the gym, running and hiking, playing sports and spending time with my family and friends.
