Bridget Pyke completed a Bachelor of Science in Physiology with Honours at the University of Calgary. She then obtained her Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of Western Ontario. Bridget has diverse clinical experience, and has practiced physiotherapy in pediatric settings, backstage at the Alberta Ballet, and at an outpatient clinic in Australia. Bridget is also a pelvic health physiotherapist and is very passionate about women’s health issues, particularly pelvic pain, tension, and incontinence in female athletes, Cesarian birth and rehabilitation, and pelvic floor strength to return to run post-partum. Bridget is authorized by the Alberta College of Physiotherapy to perform internal pelvic examinations. She has completed courses in dry needling, chronic pain, and sport physiotherapy, and has started working towards her diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. Bridget has a strong interest in running injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance, which stems from her experience as a varsity cross-country and track and field athlete. Bridget believes that a one-on-one approach to patient care and spending time with patients is critical in order to provide patients with an understanding of their condition and to work towards improvement in quality of life. Bridget creates individualized treatment plans that are specific to each patient and their goals, at any stage of injury and physical function. Bridget’s educational articles have been published in magazines such as IMPACT and Canadian Running. She can be spotted in the mountains, running along the city pathways or coaching with a local run club!
This is a 60 minute comprehensive pelvic health evaluation is for women. During this session the Physiotherapist will evaluate and create an individualized treatment plan to address your specific needs. This may include pelvic/hip pain, low back pain, bladder or bowel issues, pre/post natal, peri-menopause symptoms, or any other symptoms relating to the function of your pelvis. *An internal examination is often a component of this assessment.
