Emily is a 2018 graduate of West Coast College of Massage Therapy where she now works as a Clinic Instructor. During her studies she was privileged to gain experience at Canuck Place Children’s Hospice, the Royal Columbian Hospital maternity ward, at UBC treating varsity athletes and at GF Strong and George Pearson treating patients with traumatic spinal cord injury, MS, ALS and Cerebral Palsy. Emily uses an assortment of active and passive modalities in her treatment including Swedish massage, myofascial release, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation, stretching, hydrotherapy and joint mobilization. She is enthusiastic about patient education, therapeutic exercise and working together with patients to formulate their short and long term wellness goals. Emily has a passion for knowledge growth and is committed to keeping current with evidence based best practices in her field. Emily has supported those experiencing an array of conditions including whiplash associated disorder, adhesive capsulitis, fibromyalgia, tendinopathies, anxiety disorders, chronic back and neck pain and more. Emily has a special passion for working with pre and post natal patients. As an avid runner herself, she also has a keen interest in rehabilitation of running related injuries. When not practicing massage therapy, Emily finds inspiration in her kitchen experimenting with new ingredients, digging around in her humble vegetable garden, reading novels or hiking in our beautiful local trails.
