She then pursued advanced research, completing a Ph.D. in Physiology and Biophysics at the University of Miami. Throughout her academic career, she collaborated with leading specialists across cardiology, endocrinology, and ophthalmology, gaining a deep understanding of disease processes from the cellular and molecular levels to the whole body. Bridging Western Medicine & Traditional Chinese Medicine While working alongside Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners, Dr. Qu developed a profound appreciation for viewing the human body as part of nature, guided by universal principles. Witnessing the transformative power of acupuncture and TCM firsthand inspired her to embark on a new path as a Registered Acupuncturist in British Columbia. Her approach seamlessly integrates Western biomedical knowledge with the holistic wisdom of TCM, providing patients with safe, comprehensive, and effective care. Clinical Focus & Patient Care Dr. Qu provides acupuncture treatments not only for musculoskeletal pain but also for complex internal conditions including autoimmune disorders, metabolic imbalances, neurological concerns, and endocrinological issues. Her goal is to restore balance, improve organ function, and enhance overall quality of life. Her treatments incorporate traditional acupuncture techniques as well as complementary modalities such as cupping, Gua Sha, bloodletting, and ear seed acupressure. She also designs personalized dietary therapy plans based on TCM principles, helping patients achieve lasting wellness through both treatment and lifestyle guidance. Dedication to Education Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Qu is a committed educator. As an instructor at Vancouver Career College’s TCM program, she teaches Western medical diagnosis, biomedical sciences, and supervises acupuncture practicum training. Her teaching style emphasizes the integration of Western medicine and TCM, inspiring the next generation of practitioners to approach health care with depth, precision, and compassion. Philosophy of Care Dr. Qu’s work is rooted in compassion and a belief in the body’s natural ability to heal. By blending modern scientific training with classical TCM wisdom, she empowers patients to take an active role in their health journey and provides individualized care that addresses both the root cause and the symptoms of illness.
