Sydney is a licensed acupuncturist through the Iowa Board of Medicine and is certified through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Sydney grew up here in Grinnell, Iowa and attended Central College where she completed her Bachelor’s Degree, majoring in exercise science. She then went on to get her Masters in Acupuncture from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minnesota where she graduated summa cum laude and valedictorian of her class in 2021. Throughout her education she completed over 540+ clinical hours at numerous internships including Bloomington Natural Care Clinic, Integrative Clinic of Minnesota, De Rusha Clinic, and Woodwinds Hospital. Throughout these internships, she performed acupuncture treatments and other accessory modalities on patients in a variety of settings; her favorite internship was at Woodwinds Hospital where she provided acupuncture to patients on the orthopedic and maternity care floors. Some of her favorite things to treat include women’s health and reproductive health, digestive disorders, chronic illnesses and mental and emotional health. Her services include acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion, guasha, and infrared light therapy. She believes in finding the root cause of each individual’s illness and treating this with a holistic approach. Each treatment plan is constructed with the use of traditional Chinese medicine theory and modern diagnostic assessment, with consideration of the patient’s personal goals of care. Sydney is passionate about introducing more people to acupuncture and its many benefits and she is excited to come alongside her patients in their health journey When she is not in the clinic, she loves to choreograph for high school and college dance teams across the state and beyond, coach the Grinnell High School Dance Team, travel, spend time with her husband Darius and cheer on the Hawkeyes with her family!
