Hunter Whitehead is a Licensed Massage Therapist with a B.S in Neuroscience and is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Before transitioning into bodywork, he spent five years in emergency medicine—an experience that deepened his respect for both the resilience and fragility of the human body. After a near-death climbing accident, Hunter discovered the restorative potential of Eastern Medicine and mindful movement. Experiencing firsthand the profound effects of acupuncture and massage, he found a path that aligned with his values of balance, mindfulness, and connection. Hunter’s approach blends bodywork with neuroscience and Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT)—an evidence-based method that helps re-train the brain’s response to pain by addressing both physical and emotional holding patterns. Each session is customized to meet clients where they are, integrating techniques such as Tui Na, Facilitated Stretching, Myofascial Release, Swedish, and Craniosacral Therapy. He also incorporates education and simple self-care practices to support healing beyond the table. Outside his practice, Hunter finds balance through movement and the natural world— surfing the Pacific coast, climbing in the Eastern Sierras, or skiing in Lake Tahoe. More recently, he’s discovered a love for hip-hop and salsa dancing—new expressions of rhythm, flow, and community.
