Growing up in the Appalachian mountains of North Carolina, Abigail grew up surrounded by nature and a rich culture of bodywork and holistic healing. In 2016, she attended The Center for Massage and Natural Health in Asheville, NC, and fell in love with the art of massage therapy. Since then, she has worked in a variety of settings refining her craft. She began studying and specializing in the perinatal period in 2020, and in 2023 she opened what is now Awen Bodywork. Opening her own practice has provided infinite possibilities in deepening her skills, and she now offers craniosacral therapy for infants, children, and adults in addition to massage. This therapy has been personally transformative for Abigail, and she is thrilled to be able to offer it to the Upstate.
This massage uses techniques suited for your specific concerns and needs. Always aiming to downshift your nervous system and create balance in the body and mind, this session can be as relaxing or stimulating, quiet or talkative as you wish. Blending together Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial unwinding, breathwork, and more, we create a session as unique as you are. Hot towels, comfrey salve, and aromatherapy included.
