Dr. Emily Fried is a chiropractor passionate about helping people move better, feel stronger, and return to the activities that make life meaningful. She takes a patient-centered, evidence-informed approach that combines hands-on treatment, movement-based rehabilitation, and individualized care plans tailored to each patient’s needs. Dr. Emily works with a wide range of people, from athletes and active adults to those simply wanting to feel better in everyday life. Her clinical interests include sports injuries, neck and back pain, headaches, running-related injuries, movement limitations, and pre- and post-natal care. She is trained in the Webster Technique and provides supportive chiropractic care throughout pregnancy and the postpartum period. She also emphasizes patient education, helping people better understand pain, build confidence in their body’s ability to heal, and develop greater autonomy throughout the recovery process. Dr. Emily moved to Portland in 2019 to attend the University of Western States, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree and a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. Before chiropractic school, she earned her Exercise Science degree from Elon University while working as a human anatomy teaching assistant, which deepened her passion for anatomy, movement, and rehabilitation. During her time playing soccer in college, she experienced a traumatic knee injury and the challenges of chronic pain firsthand, which further shaped her interest in physical medicine and recovery. She continues to integrate advanced rehabilitation principles into her care, including Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) exercise concepts. Originally from Connecticut, Dr. Emily grew up playing sports year-round and developed an appreciation for movement, resilience, and recovery through both athletics and her own rehabilitation journey. Outside the clinic, she enjoys running, hiking, backpacking, whitewater kayaking, strength training, pottery, gardening, rockhounding, and cooking for friends and family. Whether patients are recovering from injury, training for an event, or simply wanting to move through life with less pain, Dr. Emily is committed to helping them feel capable and confident in what their bodies can do
