A native of Cole Harbour, Dr. Nicole Monk developed a passion for movement early in life which became a guiding force as she navigated personal challenges - including a significant ACL injury during her final year of high school. This experience sparked her introduction to Naturopathic Medicine and ignited a lifelong journey of healing and self-discovery. Dr. Monk earned her Bachelor of Science from Dalhousie University with a double major in Biology and Psychology, where she deepened her understanding of human physiology and the profound connection between the mind and body. Her academic and personal experiences laid the groundwork for a holistic view of health—one that values prevention, collaboration, and the power of daily choices. Grounded in the belief that true wellness is built on foundational pillars - movement, nutrition, rest, mindset, and connection - Dr. Monk recognizes that many of the most impactful health interventions begin with how we live our day-to-day lives. This philosophy led her to pursue her Doctorate at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she graduated in 2024. Dr. Monk’s clinical areas of interest include sports performance and recovery, hormonal health, mental health, and gut health. While she has a strong focus in these areas, she genuinely enjoys working with individuals from all walks of life and health backgrounds, supporting them in building a sustainable foundation for long-term wellness. Dr. Monk is a member of the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the Nova Scotia Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and The College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta.
