Michael is a Minnesota-born-and-trained bodyworker. He completed a 230-hr Yoga Teacher Training in 2016 and a 60-hr Yoga, Bodies, & Touch workshop in 2017 at Your Yoga Uptown. He later attended CenterPoint Massage and Shiatsu School and Clinic where he was trained in eastern Namikoshi Shiatsu and Shiatsu Anma along with western therapeutic myofascial trigger point therapy and classic relaxation massage modalities. Most recently he completed a Thai Yoga Bodywork course which covered the resemblance of the Thai Sen Energy Line System and the Anatomy Trains. His purpose in bodywork is to help people feel comfort in their bodies during everyday activities — whether active or sedentary — through maintenance and recovery massage methods. Bodywork came into his life through a series of self-assessment stepping stones. Eventually he wanted to deepen his passion for self-care through a yoga teacher training, where he was introduced to self-massage techniques, myofascial meridians, and the basics of bodywork. Shortly after he pursued a degree in massage therapy. There is a clear thread of self-care and self-love woven through his journey, and that is what he hopes to encourage through his therapeutic touch. Michael plans to continue his bodywork education in structural integration and connective tissue massage therapies. You can find him on any given day enjoying time with his wife Gigi and step-son Myka. In his spare time, he enjoys gardening, bike riding, kayaking, hiking, yoga, and time in nature.
