Maria Tyumkin completed her Master of Physical Therapy at Queen’s University in 2019, and her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at York University in 2016. Prior to practicing physical therapy Maria was a registered massage therapist and exercise specialist, gaining extensive manual therapy, exercise and gait analysis experience. Maria’s passion is to build a body to mind connection, by taking into consideration all the potential puzzle pieces and putting them together in a whole person model. Maria prioritizes and takes the time to first learn a person’s needs, their story, concerns and understand their feelings. Then combine that with how a person moves to find the interlaced causes for a person’s experience. Maria uses an educational based approach to work together on why and how the pieces contribute to the experience in order to formulate a planned journey in achieving a person’s goals. Maria’s goal is to empower and build autonomy to move and feel good. Maria is fascinated by the impacts and interrelation of gut health, hormones and a person’s menstrual cycle with pelvic health. Maria is driven by sharing knowledge and building confidence in others. When not working, you will find Maria practicing calisthenics, pilates, cycling, running, swimming or exploring the greatest outdoors. Maria loves anything that includes movement and the weather doesn't phase her. Advanced Certifications: 1. Massage Therapy - Manual Therapy 2.
