Andre Shih TCM & Acupuncture
I earned my degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia and spent 11 years working as an engineer in the manufacturing industry. However, I always knew that engineering wasn’t my lifelong path—deep down, I felt there was something more fulfilling waiting for me. More than 10 years ago, by chance, I had my first encounter with acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. In that moment, like a lightning bolt, I knew I had found what I had been searching for. Witnessing people recover from their illnesses brought me an immense sense of joy and purpose. I went on to study at PCU College of Holistic Medicine and graduated in 2015. Since then, I have helped numerous patients with a wide range of conditions using acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Many have found my treatments deeply relaxing and were amazed by acupuncture’s effectiveness. The problem-solving skills and critical thinking I developed as an engineer have been invaluable in my practice. They allow me to approach diagnosis and treatment planning with a logical and systematic mindset, ensuring the best care for my patients. I have served as a board director for the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, and I am a registered practitioner with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of BC
