Dr. Nicholas Alexander Wise (“Dr. Nick”) is a second-generation chiropractor originally from Spartanburg, SC. After 14 years in private practice, in 2014 he became the first chiropractor to be accepted as a T-32 postdoctoral research fellow at UNC-Chapel Hill in the Program on Integrative Medicine. He completed the MS in Clinical Research (MSCR) degree program and served as adjunct faculty in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine until 2021. He is a former board member of the North American Association for Laser Therapy (NAALT) and former chair of the NAALT Scientific Committee. Dr. Wise is the developer of Cranial Laser Reflex Technique (CLRT) and has trained hundreds of doctors around the world in this revolutionary technique for musculoskeletal pain relief with his company Wise Techniques, LLC. Dr. Wise was also instrumental in establishing the legal recognition of the chiropractic profession in India, and co-founded the first full time chiropractic clinics in Ahmedabad, India in 2010. He is currently Asst. Professor in the Department of Chiropractic Sciences at the University of Western States in Portland. His research interests include understanding the brain mechanisms of photobiomodulation (laser) therapy and its effects on stress, function and pain, and he is equally adept at addressing a room full of 5th graders or PhD’s. He has 3 grown-ass children back east, and he enjoys hiking, paddleboarding, DJ’ing, playing competitive soccer and loud guitar music.
