Angie Wells is a Registered Massage Therapist that graduated with honours from the Canadian Therapeutic College in 2009. Her interest in sport, body mechanics and natural healing lead to a career in Massage Therapy. She provides a therapeutic massage with a blend of Swedish massage techniques, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques and stretching. Specialized treatment such as sport therapy, pregnancy massage, manual lymph drainage, Craniosacral, and K-Taping are also available. Angie believes Massage Therapy is an integral part of health care and has effectively treated a wide range of conditions, including: tension headaches, neck/shoulder pain, sciatica, strains/sprains, overuse injuries and swelling due to injury/surgery. What is Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD)? This is a gentle, rhythmic massage technique that has a profound effect on the lymphatic system. The detoxification and decongestion effects allow the body to heal and can induce deep relaxation and reduce pain. Indications for MLD: Fibromyalgia Lymphatic support for those at risk of lymphedema (lymph nodes removed) Injury recovery (strains/sprains) Sinus congestion Early treatment of whiplash Pre/post surgery Overall well-being What is Craniocacral (CST)? CST uses light touch to engage the body, often not looking like the therapist is doing much of anything. The gentle touch, provides the body with feedback and gives it focused attention and space needed to access its own healing mechanisms, release its stored tensions/injuries/traumas, and find healthy internal dynamics/homeostasis. Relieving tension in the central nervous system promotes a feeling of well-being by eliminating pain and boosting health and immunity. CST acts as a gentle reset for the body. Allowing space to process, adjust, realign itself, ultimately re-patterning itself into a place of safety trust, relaxation, and healing.
