Who doesn't love a good massage? I think that's why I've always wanted to be a Massage Therapist. At an early age, maybe at 8 years old, it started with both my Grandmothers. Each one I think was setting me up for this. Grandma Betty, always bribing me with a quarter to rub her back, and she knew I wanted that quarter to play at the arcade. Grandma Nancy, giving me the best facial massages and realizing how much stress we actually hold in our face. She used to teach me how to do simple exercises including hand and finger exercises. Who knew 30 years later that would come in handy! See the pun I just did there. Haha! So yes, 30 years later I've become what I've always wanted to be. My heart tells me that my Grandmothers would be so proud of me, and I bet they both wish they were still here on Earth to get a great massage from their loving granddaughter.
Massage
My Hot Stone Massage uses our Lake Superior's basalt stones. The stones are used during the whole duration of your massage- I use about 20 to 30 heated basalt stones from head to toe. The therapeutic effects of heat are used to relax muscles more deeply and increase blood flow to soft tissues. The basalt stones are used as an extension of my hands. This massage induces deep relaxation and provides a unique experience many find to be tremendously calming.
Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic Drainage Facilitation is a gentle light touch that helps to direct lymphatic fluid towards the lymph nodes. The lymphatic system is part of your immune system and cleans toxins, proteins, viruses, and dead cells about 20 times faster than the body is able to do on it's own. Once a large amount of toxins are eliminated, the body is able to relax more deeply and use it's energy more directly to regenerate the cells.
